Easy ten pts!|||minn kota makes two different types of chargers,most of them plug in to an extension cord and the charger mounts on the boat,or what ever its in,i got one on my boat and about a day before im going to use it i plug it in and it automatically charges the battery,then it cuts off when the battery no longer needs charging ,it also has a safety feature built in that detects a bad battery and shuts it off to prevent battery blow up,their kind of nice to have on board though,good luck.|||your very welcome.

|||It depends on if it's an AC charger or an on-board DC alternator charger. The former is plugged into a standard AC outlet for recharging while at home or on the docks, the latter is connected to the alternator on your engine, and recharges when the main engine is in use.
