I have a 14 foot V-haul aluminum fishing boat. I'm planning to buy a trolling motor for it, but should I get a 36" or 42" shaft? I'm looking at a Minn Kota trolling motor. Possibly a 40 to 55 lb trust model.What length of trolling motor shaft should I get for my boat?
I would go with the 42" shaft so you have lots of shaft still in the water incase you have to mount it up high.
