3 feet aprox. with no motor and 4+ feet with a motor on it.How deep does water have to be for an aluminum rowboat?
you need about 4 feetHow deep does water have to be for an aluminum rowboat?
Load the boat with the same weight that you and your gear will use. Measure the depth or draft that the boat draws. Next measure the distance that your motor/engine protrudes beneath the hull. Add the two numbers. Your boat will float at this water depth...Now add six inches to this reading. Or you might add a foot... Some boats will rise when in motion and some will sink. Experiment. On rivers you need to find the main channel. Water will be deepest on the outside of the bends and deepest in the center of straight stretches. Few notice that the river level height varies from sise to side.
