Trolling motor battery cables too short, need an extension?

i recently purchased a 30lb minn-kota trolling motor and would like to increase the distance between it and my marine battery. could someone point me in the direction of a website that sells some sort of extension cable? or would i need to completely rewire the motor with a new custom cable?Trolling motor battery cables too short, need an extension?
You can purchase longer battery cables from a good marine store, the larger the gauge the better with less voltage drop. Even welding cables would work. Bolt the cables together at the eye ring or get a crimp or solder connection and use shrink tube on them. If you use large cable, say o gauge it will be like the battery is still close.Trolling motor battery cables too short, need an extension?
In most cases the cable length shouldn't be lengthened. Nor should you use the same battery for other boat systems. It should have it's own battery located near to the motor. Most bass boats have a place to install this battery. You need a Group 27 Deep Cycle Battery (110 Amp.) but a Group 24 90 Amp will also work. I hope this helps.Trolling motor battery cables too short, need an extension?
buy the same gage wire and i would the best copper connectors and crimp and solder them and insulate them real well and use the same color do it right there will be water everywhere but is hard to put out a burning battery cable
the long the run the thicker guage wire u will need or u risk melting the wire.
