I have a 12ft pelican jon boat, fiberglass/plastic type material, flat bottom so its heavy.. i was wondering what kind of trolling motor is best for it and what kind of marine battery would go well with the trolling motor so it don't die too quick..
I took the boat out once and borrowed my friends trolling motor (minn kota 36lbs thrust) and his battery. battery was fully charged but it didn't last more than 2 hours

2 hours isn't bad.I'd choose Minn Kota Endura 30 or 40.
Batteries are expensive, but cheap $50 ones don't deliver the energy that $150 ones do.
