Honestly, those companies are not even going to look at you. I suggest you do some leg work and get some smalltime sponsorships from local businesses in your area, (Dan's Auto Shop, Billy's Bait %26amp; Tackle, etc) enter some fishing tournaments and work your way to the big league. Best of luck to you, hope to see you on TV in a few years!I am thirteen years old and im an exteme good bass fisher. I want to get sponsored by a good company .?
There's people who will have better answers because they have sponsors, BUT....

Start out fishing little local tournaments, you need to get a name for yourself, and a pile of photos with you with fish "recreationally" doesn't do the same thing as having actual tournaments under your belt. Save your winnings from the little toureys to pay for bigger tourneys and start talking to people. Don't rule out local businesses. I work at a Ranger dealership, I've met a few people who have some good sponsors, but also have sponsors from right here in my little nothing town.I am thirteen years old and im an exteme good bass fisher. If you want to get sponsored at anything, you need to understand how the system works.

A company sponsors someone because they believe they can get a return on their investment. The basic idea is they hope that when fishermen see a pro using their products, the fishermen will then be influenced to purchase these products themselves, thus increasing sales.

So for a company to sponsor you, they would have to beleive that your skills and reputation are such that you can influence other fisherman to buy and improve the companys profits.

Regardless of how good you are, it won't matter if no one knows who you are. There are some amazing athletes playing basketball in parks in new york city, yet they don't have the big shoe contract like NBA players, because the only people who know how good they are are the locals.

Like the others said, you need to do two main things.

One, increase your visibility. Enter every tournament you can, and it goes without saying, you will need to do well. So you will need to work on every part of your skill set. Its not enough to just be a good fisherman- you need to learn about the science of the water chemistry, how temperatures affect the fishing, learning everything you can about the sport- I assure you the real pros do, and they are your competition.

The second thing is networking- make friends with everyone you can at fishing shops, bait stores, boat dealers, anyone who works in the fishing industry. the idea is to create a network of people who can talk you up by word of mouth, and also maybe help you out with small sponsorship, which may lead to bigger deals.

Its great you are starting so young, but the most important thing you will need is some patience. It may take awhile. Work hard, have fun, and good luck.
i say go for it. that's the kind of job that America is famous for. hard work and a education heek yea. go for that fishing deal. once you get sponsored you will make more that doctors or social workers who save lives and help people. good luck mate.
