Of course they help, a lot actually. A trolling motor is absolutely necessary if you have a boat. I'll never forget when me and my dad got our first boat. We didn't have a trolling motor for the longest time and it made a decent day of fishing nearly impossible. Without a trolling motor you are forced to anchor down somewhere and can't cover any amount of water at all. A boat without a trolling motor is just about useless in my opinion.



The Minn Kota motors are great. We have one on our main Bass boat and I also have one on a small 10 foot plastic boat which I take to ponds and small lakes. I've used a lot of different trolling motors and the Minn Kotas seem to be the biggest bang for the buck. They are very quiet, longer lasting than others, and have a pretty good price tag on them.Do minn kota motors help in fishing?

YES! It's a perfect trolling motor.



Minn-Kota electric outboard motors are made for (and excellent for) trolling. If for some reason, you're not sure what trolling is... it's moving your lure (bait, etc...) without reeling in your line, thus giving ample time to fight your catch until it gets tired. Moving the boat gives you lots of line in the water; just be sure to keep it out of the reeds, stumps, mossy logs by shore... anything that snags the line.



By experience, the Minn-Kota not only reduces underwater noise and water displacement (which are essential when trolling) but are also reliable when your gas motor conks out.. at least it will get you to shore, unless you're trying to run against a fast current.
