it will keep letting rope out , than it will stop and reverse to the up mode...anybody have any experiance with this.....Minn-kota deck hand electric anchor...goes up on the up button ...but on the down button it will not shut off.
Replace the switch...

I put a new switch on mine and it' doing that as well.
