Minn kota electric motor- which one suits my boat?

i have a 4.3 meter aluminum boat. it has a mercury 35 horsepower. i was wondering wat minn kota motor should i put on it? a 50lb or wat? because i dont know which one is the one that has the strength to push my boat. which one?|||A 50lb thrust engine should be just right. It will push your boat nicely at lower settings. At max, you will make headway in a slight chop. Be sure that the shaft length is correct for your transom height. You want the top of the prop to be at least 6 inches below the deepest part of the transom.|||A 50lb. Is approximatly = to a 5 horse gas engine.. I have 1 on a similar size boat %26amp; it works fine...

Good luck|||MinnKota says one pound of thrust for each 36 pounds of weight of boat and accessories.|||36lbs of thrust was adequate on all but the windiest of days on my 4.6 meter fiberglass boat, my new 46lb-thrust motor is just right.

36lbs should do the job for you.

Interestingly, while weight does matter some, what matters more is freeboard -- how much of your hull is above the waterline where the wind can catch it and move you around.
